Raquele Shepard - 5 Element Acupuncturist

Raquele has been working as a healer for 14 years. She graduated massage school in 2008 and
has had a massage practice since then. She wanted to continue to expand her knowledge of the
human body and so she studied a MSU Denver for 6 years and earned degrees in Nutrition and
Biology. Having an in depth understanding of the Western approach to health felt like only part
of the picture. In having a limited understanding of eastern medicine, she was very intrigued by
what she did know. She understood intuitively that we are a functioning and elaborate
organism that cannot be separated into parts and pieces. She loved that acupuncture helps a
person’s body heal on its own and honors that we are an intricate web of body, mind, and spirit
that cannot be separated.
Raquele started acupuncture school in 2017. She spent 4 years studying 5 Element Acupuncture
at ITEA in Louisville, Co. While training at the clinic, she had her first born son and was pregnant
with her daughter upon graduating. She is now a licensed acupuncturist and is practicing in
Broomfield, Co. She still has a thriving massage business and is excited to grow her acupuncture
business.
We are a complex organism with a physical body, emotional body, and a spirit. All these parts
of us play equally important roles in supporting our well-being. Our emotional state affects our
physical body and our body (ie pain) affects our emotional state. In order to achieve well-being
we must understand this. As a natural born healer, Raquele felt studying acupuncture was the
missing piece of the puzzle. Acupuncture treats the body mind and spirit and does not attempt
to separate these parts, but nourishes and supports the whole person through 100% natural
means.
How acupuncture can help:
Acupuncture has been used to treat illnesses for over 3000 years. 5 Element one type of this
ancient form of medicine has stood the test of time and multiple dynasties, some of which did
their best to destroy it. The primary focus of this style is to treat the core or culprit of disease or
symptoms. Almost all symptoms have a root cause. The symptom itself is more of a cry for help
from the body. For instance, many people suffer from insomnia. Insomnia is a symptom of
something else, primarily a mental or emotional imbalance. The term imbalance is often used in
this medicine as ideal health is achieved when all aspects of ourselves are balanced and we are
living in accordance to our true nature. When this is achieved, we are living the Dao. We
operate from a place of clarity, inspiration, creativity, joy and love. 5 element acupuncture
helps us achieve this level of balance in our lives.
Intake
The intake itself can range take about 45 min-1 hr. This includes going over family history,
lifestyle, diet, and medical history. Sometimes our lifestyle gets in the way of achieving our
health goals. During the intake we will uncover possible barriers that may be getting in your
way. There are fundamental pillars to achieving wellness for all human beings: a healthful diet,
exercise, spending time in nature, and having a social network. I will work with you on coming
up with ideas to better serve you and your goals and strengthen these pillars. The client must
be self-motivated to make changes or treatments won’t hold. If the client is making healthy life

choices treatments hold and maintenance treatments can be done to stay on track. These can
vary from monthly to every 6 weeks.
Mental well being
5 Element acupuncture has had tremendous success in helping people feel mentally sound,
strong, and capable of navigating the challenges of life with more ease. Through treatment and
lifestyle changes, clients have reportedly felt more like themselves while having more energy
and a better attitude. Acupuncture has been shown to help with anxiety, depression, feelings of
indifference and lack of joy for life.
Spiritual growth
The spirit isn’t this mystical voodoo magical thing. The spirit is real. It can be seen, felt, and
experienced. When someone is connected to their spirit, their skin has a glow, their eyes are
sparkling, they have the ability to make others feel better just by being in their presence. When
we are living in accordance to our true nature, our spirit flourishes and we flow through life
with ease. The ancient Chinese believed this to be the Tao, “The way”. 5 Element acupuncture
is based on these principles. Through treatment we have the ability to know what we truly
want, the clarity of how to achieve our dreams, the ambition to persevere, the ability to let go
of things that don’t serve us, and the joy of life to make our experience enjoyable. When we are
living this way out of true authenticity, our spirit grows.

5 Element Acupuncture
As a 5-element acupuncturist I am passionate and motivated to help people on their journey of
achieving physical health, mental well-being, and spiritual growth. Life’s challenges have a way
of knocking us off our path, through treatment we can handle adversity with more ease and
operate from a grounded place.
The ancient Chinese recognized that we have a very intimate relationship with the elements of
nature. The natural world has a way of always finding a dynamic balance. The more we
separate ourselves from nature as a whole and our personal nature, the more the elements
within us become out of balance. When this happens, ailments present themselves in many
ways. 5 Elements acupuncture seeks to fine tune the complex instrument that we are so that
the elements support each other, and we are thereby in alignment with nature. To achieve
optimal results from treatment, our lifestyle must be supportive of our well-being. Together we
will come up with goals to better support you on your journey of living an authentic life full of
abundance, health, and joy.
